I had the flu in the last week of February. It was tough. I'm glad I'm almost out of it I am really enjoying the weather and seeing flowers and cardinals everywhere around my house. I'm sharing a song that you could teach with your students that's related to seasons and months. I'm also sharing a picture of a squirrel skipping class at the community college where I work full time.

Hola! Buenos Noches?!?!

Hope everyone's week has gone better than mine, and have gotten more sleep than I have also.  I may have to come back a little later and add my pictures to my blog, maybe into the comments section, my phone is dead and that is where all the pictures are.

My baby, who just turned 10 months old has been very sick lately, and she finally got her tubes in her ears, so maybe the tubes will allow all this fluid to drain and not build up which will not allow it to build up or whatever its doing.   She's been through RSV testing and x-rays for pneumonia (which were all negative, thankful but it leaves us at "what's wrong with her?" She has had fluid in her ears and double ear infections for a month straight.  Out of my cinco kids, she has been my most sick and the youngest one to get tubes.  My 8 year old is the only one who does not have any tubes.

Here is a photo of us right before her surgery on Wednesday.

Hola!

It looks like everyone else has been just as busy as I have! Last week I took advantage of not having to work for a few weeks and went on a spontaneous road trip to D.C. with my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and their friends for a couple of days. It was nice to travel somewhere that I haven't been in many years. However, the trip took a couple of days out of my apartment searching. So, the rest of my week is going to be very hectic as I would love to find a place before spring break!

Also, I mentioned in my first post that I have been trying to be healthier this year; between moving back to North Carolina and my trip out of town, I definitely lost sight of my goal for a few weeks! However, today I managed to meal prep for the rest of the week and get a great workout in. I'm proud of myself today for at least attempting to be healthy so, hopefully I will get back into a routine soon.

I hope everyone has a great week. Here is a photo of myself, my brother, sister-in-law, nephew, and their friends at the Lincoln Memorial the other day, and a couple of photos of the Washington Monument!

For the love of clay!

So my newest hobby and passion is pottery. I started taking a class last summer at the community arts center and now have evolved to making decent size vases in my ceramics class at UNCW. I absolutely love working with clay and hope to have my own studio at my house soon. I also want to learn all I can about different processes and eventually get my master in Fine Arts in ceramics. Ultimately I would love to teach ceramics and art at either the secondary education level or college level. I will work on taking a couple of pictures of me throwing to add to these images. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog entry. Hope you enjoy seeing my work. Also you

MJ at Watson College of Education

Hola Classmates,

Here I am at my office in the Betty Holden Stike Education Laboratory of the Watson College Education.  Los Caballitos de Mar painting behind me is my favorite one in WCE.  I am fortunate to enjoy it everyday as I work.

Hola! If you all are anything like me your semester has been a little crazy lately. Its that point in the year where the work is piling up and there is always something going on. I hope you are all enjoying this class as much as I am though!

I recently turned 21 and was able to celebrate with friends and family. My family means everything, and my nephew has the key to my heart as you can probably tell by my pictures.

Unidad 9

Hola!  I see we're all very busy.  Things have been very busy and hectic and at times a bit overwhelming.  I quit my PT early, since the feeling I get is burdening from others.  Happy 10 months old to my sweet baby today, she's been sick all of this month, and most of the last 2.  She is scheduled for surgery on the 22nd for tubes.  I'm hoping that will help (people are starting to ask if she is Darth Vader's child...hahaha).  Her pediatrician sent her Saturday to the hospital for RSV testing, that was negative today.  I just don't know what else it could be.  Low grade fever....she has good spirits, so that is the bright side.  Sunday was so gorgeous and I felt the fresh air would do her some good, so we took a walk on a nature trail.  This is my favorite picture of my youngest, Harper with my husband.  I did not pick out their matching outfits.... not sure if he did or not.

Unidad 9

Hola everyone,

I have been super busy lately moving back to North Carolina! I moved to Northwest Georgia last March, and decided back in October that I would move back to NC to finish school. Yesterday I drove from Georgia to my moms house near Raleigh (about seven hours). I'm so glad to be home, and spending time with my family! I'm very anxious to start my apartment search this week also. If any of you have suggestions on great places to live in or near the Wilmington area, don't hesitate to shoot me an e-mail! :) Here is a photo of my nephew and I playing with Snapchat filters earlier today!

These face in the hole things are my favorite! I always take pictures in them. We found a new one not too long ago while going to the post office downtown, my son was just as excited as me. I'm glad he has a love for them too!

This is the same moon from below but at Sunrise/moonset. It was around 6:30 AM.

This is an image that I was playing with, the broken effect was achieved by photographing a tree limb between me and the moon.

If you look at the top left side you will see where the earth was blocking the reflection of light from the son. It was viss
Buenas Tardes,

I am very sick as I write this but it doesn't look as if I am getting better anytime soon, so I must force myself up to get my work done. I hope everyone else has been well, as I know a lot of sickness has been moving around campus lately.

One of my passions that I have had for a long time is photography. Recently I was able to get a 70-300 telelense so I have been capturing images of the moon. I find it fascinating that I am able to get such detail in my images. I took a couple the other day as we had a partial eclipse of the moon. I will share those below if you would like to see them. I also took a couple photos of the moon set the next morning. I also enjoy photographing landscapes and people. hopefully I can share some of those later this week when I am feeling better.

Gracias,
Penney

I've been swimming for many years. It's been an on and off but I haven't stopped since around 1990. I've been swimming twice a week (one hour a week total) for a while. I enjoy doing that. I hope there's something that you have been doing for many years besides school :) Feel free to share. Gracias.  Natación es buen ejercicio y me gusta.

Hola Clase,

Life has been pretty crazy so far this semester. My courses are very time intensive and I have had little time to play with my kids, enjoy nature or even cook dinner. I know some of you understand what I am talking about. I am really enjoying this class and really enjoy Jorge's cartoons and humor. It makes this all the more enjoyable.

Today I did take a couple hours out for myself and went and explored for a little while on Turkey creek. It is right by my house. As you can see from the picture below, it was very relaxing.

Buenas Noches,

Penney
